I think I might give this a try. It’ll be different than our usual pot roast.
1 lg roast
1 pkg Italian seasoning
1 pkg Au jus
1 stick butter
1 jar Mezzetta California Hot Mix Vegetables
I actually usually cook this for 20 hours on low (I start it right before bed the night before we eat, and restart it before work) Then we have it as sandwiches on ciabatta bread rolls. So yummy.

Okay, but help me with the roast part — I always screw it up when figuring out what hunk of meat to buy at the grocery store – what EXACTLY is this piece of beef called?! Thank you :)

Specifically, what I used here was called a Beef Chuck Roast and it was 2.5 lbs.
I like the fat and marbling, personally, because I like the flavor.
I will buy whatever type of roast is on sale, but this works best for me.

I made your pot roast recipe last night and it was so delicious! Thank you for sharing this super easy and convenient recipe! I won’t have to cook for a couple days now…I used a 3.5lb roast and it’s just me and the husband. Yay for yummy leftovers!
