Photo courtesy Daisy, enjoying some sailing at the Chicago Yacht Club.
Remember when Bill Murray went sailing in What about Bob?
That’s me on a boat.
I pretty much suck as at all forms of transportation, outside of rickshaw and segway.
We’re in Chicago.
I was supposed to be here Friday by myself, but my train canceled, due to some sort of alleged massive train wreck in Indiana. So, I went home all pouty, and decided to make it a last minute family getaway. Mostly because they wouldn’t refund my hotel.
So, it’s been a couple weeks since I did a Lazy Sunday, but ironically, not because I am lazy.
Big projects coming up, plus the kids are going back to school. Honestly, most days I think it’d be way easier just to homeschool them. And by homeschool, I obviously mean we keep doing what we are now, which is sleeping in, not cleaning up after ourselves, and traveling around a bit.
Andy even brought up buying an RV and taking road trips, but then we both remembered I’m afraid to drive on roads and I don’t like people enough to be around them in small spaces for long durations of time.
Let’s sum up the week, shall we:
I met a transvestite face painter.
I came out of the closet.
I made a video.
I made a shortlist of lady-spouses.
I also am adding the latest Three Martinis In podcasts to my blog (as my stupid slow hotel connections allows)… I am super behind, click here to check them out. (NSFW)
Next week I have a big day…of INK, which I totally can’t wait to share with you, but, until then, here is some cool stuff I found on the internet…
I won’t sleep until I have this. Ok fine, I will, but I’ll be super assy about it to make my point.
This is my most favorite site in THE WORLD.
Why I want to learn how to sew.
And lastly, here is some hip shit I am currently listening to…
To keep up with everything I love, I suggest joining me on Pinterest, StumbleUpon, Facebook, Google +, and Twitter.
I am in love with leisure dives! A few weeks ago we went to the lake and my friends were trying to get me to do it…but being featured on a website (thats not my own blog) isn’t worth the intense stinging that is bound to happen when I screw up the landing.
Did you still need an ink buddy?
Yes.
Messgae me and let me know day/time/location.
Gorgeous photo! I am not far from Chicago (in Indiana actually and I did not know about this train accident, yikes.) Have an awesome time while you’re here!
Steph
So funny story about that Corduroy Skirts sign – it happened a few blocks from my school!
I have spent the last year trying to find the adorable ginger gay man who held the sign because I want to be his best friend. :( So far, mission unsuccessful.
Sewing? Don’t do it.
Hey, did you ever get a chance to read that book?
wes and i have been looking at RV’s lately. you know, so my carrot can come visit your carrot :-)
btw, that picture of your family is gorgeous!
ok Can I adore you any more?
you speak out against mental illness.
you are freaking hilarious.
AND you know who garfunkel and oates are!?
SCORE again for Brittany!
I love your photo. Last minute trips are often the best. Otherwise, I get all weirded out over-planning for them.
Wait!
We had a train wreck over the weekend?
WTF?
Nobody tells me shit!
See this is exactly why I love the internet. You get to (cyber)meet so many people who can introduce you to things you wouldn’t otherwise have the chance to experience. I love being introduced to new music.
And if you want that beer cozy, sewing is not going to help you. However, I can teach you how to knit. The needlepoint lettering is all on you though.
I could have my own jellyfish tank? Quick, honey, get out the credit card! I got to hold one in my hand when we were sea kayaking in the San Juan Islands this summer. Too awesome. BTW, my favorite pro gay marriage sign is the one that reads “Who do you think designed your wedding dress?”
