OMG. This has nothing to do with Dish, but I freaking love Vince Vaughn. Puffy body and baggy eyes and all. We can be puffy body baggy eyed lovers. If he weren’t married. And I weren’t married. I. Love. Him.
I used to live in the boonies and could only have TV if we used Dish or DirecTV. Well our area was heavily wooded and we kept having signal issue. The jackass technician actually pointed to trees in the distance and said once fall arrives and the leaves are gone the issue will clear up. WTF?? Wanna know the real issue? The cable was slowly being eaten away by the elements and wild life, so whenever the wind blew funny or it rained the signal instantly dissapeared. The dumbass who told us the other theory was reprimanded and our account was credited with free premium channels.
OMG yes. Our DN DVR keeps not working. It tapes things that aren’t new and missed taping the things that are new so we call and they tell us there is a software issue becasue we have an older DVR and it will take a few MONTHS for them to update it so it will work properly. I am like umm really we have been a customer for long enough that our DVR is old and you want me to wait months yeah umm no.
It’s fun to explain to my 2 year old why we can’t watch her shows during rain. Plus, HELLO – how are we supposed to see Jym Ganahl and Bob Nunnaly have their weather boners on Channel 4 while the storms are rolling in?
We cancelled Dish 2 months ago and survive with a digital antenna, Netflix, and some voodoo to make the broadcast channels record and playback on iTunes for me.
Trees do actually interfere because the water in the leaves scatters the signals, but dude should have checked the wiring, too. This is the same reason that clouds and rain interfere. The signal hits the water and you only get what wiggles through between the molecules. Sorry, I was an Internet provider in a past life LOL
Holy crapballs, I thought our house was the only one with this problem! I pay every month so the damn thing should work 100% of the time, even when it’s off, it should be working at full capacity!
I used to work for a DirecTv call center, it shouldn’t be going out when it rains. A tech should come re-align your dish. Big, bad storms can knock your dish just slightly out of alignment causing it to do that on regular windy days. Also, if you have HD channels, try going to the non-HD version during the rain, it’ll usually still be there.
I cannot see Vince Vaughn without thinking of DODGEBALL.
DODGEBALL makes me think of the bar they hung out at after games and practices: the Dirty Sanchez.
And I crack up ……… with a little bit of EWWWWWW, GROSS!
I have the issues with Time Warner. They keep doing these updates, which result in NOTHING…as in NOTHING WORKS. Then I get to call and spend a bunch of wasted minutes or hours talking to someone that I can’t understand and vice versa. And seriously, I lack patience on a GOOD DAY.
I do love Vince Vaughn, though. Like run away from my home and kids and all responsibilities if he asked me too. Don’t worry. The kids know. It’s no secret.
Right?? I almost had a stroke the other day when my Dish went out. To be fair, I live in Vegas and it was raining so hard it was flooding, but still. I can’t sleep without the TV on and the DVD player in the room has up and croaked, so we laid on the couch watching The Hangover for that terrible 37 minutes it took to restore my beloved cable.
