I just finished Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter.
Am I the only one who read this book, and then spent 7-15 hours googling around to see if Abraham Lincoln was, in fact, ever an actual vampire hunter?
Because dude, this is all totally plausible, and how bad ass would that be!? Also, why was he not a hotter president, I could totally get behind him being a super hot tall guy who kills people with an axe.

This book was so good. I read it so long ago and I hear a movie is coming out and can’t wait. I loved it. And yes, he was a total bad ass vamp hunter. I did google him but not to find out if he was “really” a hunter because he totally was.
Cindy, there’s actually a movie trailer for this!!
Just Google it and it should come up. The trailer looks great and I can’t wait to see the movie :D
This book might have led to an epic amount of hypothetical questions posed to my husband. At the end of the stream he finally said to me “YES, The maestro of the civil war took time out from freedom orchestrations to battle down a few nosferatu and then give it to Mary Todd”.
And people wonder why I married him…
Best response from a husband EVER. Of course you married him.
I wonder how this movie is gonna do. It’s coming out in July, August?
I’m just kind of hoping Edward for those awful Twilight movies is in it and gets stabbed like, within the first 10 seconds.
Oh, I disagree. Long live Edward Cullen!
I saw a preview for the movie when I went to see Dark Shadows on Saturday. Dark Shadows was a bust- save yourself the $10. Actually, I wouldn’t even spend the $1.25 to rent it from Redbox. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Slayer, however, is now on my must see list. Abe has always been my favorite president. Knowing his secret only reinforces my choice.
Reading this now and refuse to believe he *wasn’t* a vampire hunter! Cannot wait for movie!
{typing in Goodreads.com} {adding Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter}
All done.
I haven’t read it yet but going to add it to my goodreads now!
I was on the fence about reading this book, but between what you wrote and the ads for the upcoming movie, I’m sold. And I couldn’t agree with you more about wanting him to be a good-looking kick-ass president/vampire hunter—that would be too cool.
Have you read Pride, Prejudice, and Zombies? Seth Grahame-Smith wrote that one too. It was a fun read.
Loved it!
LOVING this book. Granted, I had to “shelve” it for a week so I could read the entire 50 Shades series…but now that’s over and I’m going back to the vampire hunting Abe Lincoln!
I’ve been meaning to pick this book up and the movie does come out this June 22. If you haven’t seen the trailers for it check them out it looks like it will be good.
I haven’t read that one, but I DID like Pride and Prejudice and Zombies rather a lot. Jane Slayre was also good, but don’t bother with Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters.
I’m a librarian, so I got to read AL:VH as soon as it came out. I loved every single MOMENT of that book! I’ve always been a huge Lincoln fan, so this book was total icing for me. I had never read any of Grahame-Smith’s other books (sorry, Jane Austen just has never done it for me), but I LOVED this one, and I’m thrilled it’s being made into a movie. I hope it does well. This book actually inspired me to write my own mashup. I channeled Shakespeare, and wrote The Taming of the Werewolf. :D Now I look myself up on amazon for cheap thrills.
