Knock You On Your Ass Margaritas

in Booze, lowercase b, Recipes

If this was Hogwarts, I would fail every class…except for bartending. I think Professor Flitwick teaches it.

Oh, and I’d probably pass herbology. Ahem.

My point is, I am mediocre at most things except eating and booze, and since yesterday I showed you a picture of my Margarita Ball, I thought I’d spend today telling you just what to put into it.

You know those margaritas that are so good, you sit there and drink them for hours, having no concept how drunk you are until you try to stand upright and then you hit the pavement face first? This is one of those margaritas. It’s a family recipe perfected over the years by generations and generations of drunk Catholic people, and today I will share it with you.

Knock You On Your Ass Margaritas

6 oz Roses Lime Juice (This is not the same as regular lime juice.)
8 oz Triple Sec
1 liter Tequila
1 container Frozen Lemonade, melted
36 oz Water

Mix all of the above together, then chill in the fridge.

For best results, let it sit at least an hour.

*When using this recipe for my Margarita Ball, I double it.

That … looks deliciously dangerous.

I also recently wrote about Harry Potter. Sort of. It involves pee.

We’re having my sons 5th birthday party this Saturday and I have been looking for an adult beverage to make. So, thank you!! Can’t wait to make it (and drink it). =) Do you think I should double it? Should be around 40-50 people?

It’s Potions. But only after Slughorn took over. Snape never let anyone have any fun.

HAHA! You have my sister’s secret ingredient to How to Have a Successful Yard Sale!
Pull table out to front yard. Toss all the crap you wish to get rid of onto table. Fill very large thermos with Margaritas. Sit in lawn chair and get trashed while selling stuff until you’ve either lowered the prices because you’re feeling drunk-generous or given it all away to the first person who comments on how nice you look. At the end of the yard sale, she’s feeling no pain, has gotten rid of most of the stuff that had been cluttering the hall closet AND has enough money to buy a new bottle of Tequila.

Funny that we Catholics know how to make an amazing Margarita – this recipe is almost exactly like my family recipe except we add a can of beer!

This is going to cause a run on margarita balls on eBay…. Mine is on the way! Thanks – can’t wait to try the recipe :) Have you made it with frozen limeade melted?

Oh. Em. Gee. My bestie and I went on a little road trip down to Waco (I know, so creepy right?? All I can think about is David Koresh and Haley Bop… or something, anyways…) with this recipe in hand. When we got there, we found the most amazing white trash plastic wine glasses with, get this, SPILL PROFF LIDS AND STRAWS!!! This is so good, right? So, we made your margaritas, drank them in the white trash glasses and got drunk off our asses while sitting on the porch at an incredible ranch, watching the cows and horses and grass and… whatnot. LOVELY. THANK YOU!!!

(turns out I already posted about this before it happened… see, those margaritas were so good that I’m way too hungover to think straight!)

I have to disagree with this recipe. Thats more of a recipe for a hangover than a cocktail. I subscribe to the NEVER used bottled lime or lemon juices and that limeade does not belong in a margarita. I use nothing but 100% Agave tequila, FRESH squeeze lime juice, agave nectar, water and ice. Gran Marinier, Cointreau or Controy on occasion or a splash of Presidente Brandy on top but thats it. That is the freshest, cleanest, most natural tasting margarita you will find. If I want to make a large batch or a batch of frozen I make my own mix using:

12 oz fresh squeeze lime juice
9 oz agave nextar
10 oz water

Then all you do is add tequila & ice and you are good to go.
