Ok, so we already went over what to read after you finished Fifty Shades of Grey, but if you are like me and plow through these books in a 24 hour time period, chances are, you’ve already eaten through the four I left you with last week.
So, in continuation of our dirty little book club, I thought I would drop two more good reads in your lap, to keep your weekend nice and smutty. If you have a significant other, tell them I said you’re welcome. If they are anything like Andy, they’ve been getting plenty of play the last few months courtesy of my 50 Shades of Libido.
Backstage Pass by Olivia Cunning
I really, really liked this book. The first chapter had me really having to put my suspension of belief hat on, but once I did, and just accepted the fact that stupid things are going to happen in books about sex, then shit got good.
Pros: Super hot book, with good genital words and a really fun story line. Plus, it’s a little longer than other erotic novels, so it will last a day or two.
Cons: She puts her fingers where!?
Rock Hard, Olivia Cunning
This is a continuation of Backstage Pass. I didn’t think I was going to like it, because I really loved the characters in the first book, and didn’t want to focus on other members of the band. Thankfully, this book still keeps you in touch with all the characters from the first book, and keeps the story line going.
Pros: Equally awesome sex scenes, actual plot, a really cool backstage look at a touring rock band.
Cons: No seriously, why do they keep putting their fingers in there?
Leave your smut recommendations in the comments below, Andy’s golfing all weekend and I’m on my period. I’ve obviously got some time on my hands.
Honestly, her last name is Cunning? Which of course leads me to LINGUS ( I totally butchered the spelling – and yes I have the sense of humor of a 14 year old boy). I of course will be ready both. Thanks for the SMUT!
Hehehe! I thought the same thing!!
Here are a few I have liked: Bared to You, Beautiful Disaster, On the Island, The Story of O (this one is crazy graphic), Gabriels Inferno, Gabriels Rapture, The Maya Banks series called Sweet Series, or anything written by Lora Leigh
love love LOVED Gabriel’s Inferno and Gabriel’s Rapture.
Lorelei James and the Rough Rider series.
I believe others recommended these in your previous post, but they are fabulous smutty reads and deserve another mention.
I also love how smutty romances have become more acceptable and more women are standing up and saying “Yeah, we like dirty romances! Bite me!” . I got into these a few years ago and felt like it was a dirty secret, but now, whatever. I like my historical biographies and fictions but sometimes I just need to unwind dammit.
I feel the exact same way. For years I would casually make my way to the romance section of the bookstore. Take my time browsing through the popcorn romance, scouting out the erotica section to make sure no one else is around before I quickly scanned the shelves and grabbed the naked man- covered book I had gone in to buy, holding said cover to my leg, as I casually wandered up to the checkout, pretending that no! I wasn’t buying a book with naked people on the cover!
And thank you e-reader! I’ll never forget when my friend followed me into my bedroom and picked up the book on my nightstand… Rachel, why is there a naked man on the cover of this book?
Ha, I totally read her name as Olivia Cumming….which would totally make sense based on the books!
Bummer they’re not on kindle!!
I read it on Kindle!
I will have to try on the comp…maybe my phone is being prude.
I was ridiculously amused by your phone being a prude. =)
Backstage Pass makes me think that fingers are going somewhere my fingers shan’t ever go.
I have to get these books now. The “cons” have me intrigued.
I started reading Bared to You based on your rec. You were correct, shockingly similar (but better). And both main characters meet their man by literally falling into them? Lame!
Waiting to see how dirty this one will get!
Totally passing this on to my Smart Smut Book Sistahs, all of whom I direct here constantly!
for those of us without a kindle, must the covers be so… porn-ish? Couldn’t we have some sort of beard so the ladies at the pool don’t shun their children away from me?
any anything anything by Laurell K. Hamilton, have iced water and a fan nearby. She takes group sex to an entirely new level, adding in Fairies, Were Beast (As in werewolves etc) Vampires etc. http://www.laurellkhamilton.org/. And no, these vampires do NOT Sparkle!
I am halfway through 50 shades of grey and am surprised I like it after all the hype. It is a very well rounded story which is appealing.
I have to look through my “library” and get you the names of the smut-books I read before 50 Shades made it acceptable to read MomPorn.
BTW, I was super offended when Bethany Frankle Hoppy made the statement on Ellen that these books are in some way a reflection of something missing in a womans marriage/ sex life. Then again, I can not really stomach her, in general. ( Her husband is from my hometown and graduated 2 years before me, and when they came to tape here she made it seem like the worst place on eacth!)
I actually work with a guy whose real name is Richard Cummings. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t write smutty books. What a waste.
I love that you are doing this. I’ve been going through the web looking for smut ever since. Thanks for the referral! I’m also reading the Lauren Dane “Brown Sibling” series which is pretty smutty, but highly entertaining.
One of my Facebook friends posted some link to an article about how the Fifty Shades books are evil and bad for marriages. The article (Yes, I clicked it, in a “I can’t turn away from a traffic accident” sort-of way) basically made reading erotica the equivalent as men watching porn that degrades women. Very odd. I’m surprised we’re Facebook friends, to be honest. I’m pretty filthy. I’m pretty sure I’ve been blocked, come to think of it…
Ok, thanks to your recommendation I just downloaded and read Backstage Pass. It was really good and I can’t believe that I am hooked on these books! I think that I am going to have to read the next Sinner’s Tour book and then maybe take a break … it is not healthy to be reading this stuff as much as I have in the past two weeks :P Although my husband would disagree!!
Keep em coming Brittany
Ok, so I have read these and I am now considering taking a break from the pleasure reads. That is unless you have other steamy novels that you think that we should read… you sure know how to pick ’em.
I had to do a palette cleanser as well, I did Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter, and now I am going to try to do some book recommended to me called Wool. BUT, I will have more smutty recs coming soon, I am just finishing up a batch.
So, I’m super late to the party, but I just needed to pass on Crash Into You by Roni Loren. Holy Christ that book is hot! Takes me back to 50 Shades, but with good writing and way hotter sex scenes. You’re welcome.
I’m also late to the party but the J.R. Ward Black Dagger Brotherhood series, yes they are vampires with interesting names but they’re non-sparkly, leather wearing vampires who like to take care of the ladies if-you-know-what-I-mean.
Thank you so much for all of this input. After the Fifty Shades Trilogy I felt all alone…didn’t know what to do or how to get my erotica!!!!
Keep on posting!!!
Just finished Gabriel’s Inferno by Sylvain Reynard. MUST FIND NEXT BOOK. sigh.
Cannot get my hands on Redhead Series where I live….
