in Love, lowercase b, Parenting

Today I will officially be a dance mom. I never took dance myself, so I wasn’t in a hurry to sign her up for it, but the girl has music in her soul. Everyday is like Footloose up in here.

I plan to spend the day watching Dance Mom marathons and Center Stage (COOPER NIELSEN!).

I am the best goddamn dancer in the American Ballet Academy. Who the hell are you? Nobody.

Despite the fact that I had severe separation anxiety and absolutely no coordination, my mother insisted on enrolling me in ballet and gymnastics. Thankfully she gave up on gymnastics pretty quickly. And the crowning achievement of my dance career was playing the curious little bunny at a picnic. I had to run and hide behind a bush and shake my little cottontail. I was a freaking ADORABLE bunny. Obviously.

I didn’t have the heart… or the feet.

I’ve been dancing since I was her age. I had music in my soul, too.

Also, Center Stage? I took multiple classes from Charlie, who’s a real-life amazing ballet dancer named Sascha Radetsky. He’s either super uncomfortable in social situations, or just kind of rude. I couldn’t tell which.

OMG I am sooooo jealous right now. Whenever I watch Center Stage, I’m all Cooper Nielson? Who the hell cares about him. It is ALL about Charlie and those eyes!!

Oooo!!! My 3 and a half year old daughter just started a ballet/tumbling class. This child is serious about her art. She was teaching her 7 year old brother some moves and I hear her yelling, ” sauté! Sauté! SAUTÉ!” And her brother saying, “I’m trying! I don’t… I don’t even know what that is!” I thought I was going to lose my mind at the first class. The cute level in that building was WAY over the legal limit.

I can’t hear “The Way You Make Me Feel” and not do the dance from the movie!

I just got my daughter the same skirt. It’s so fun! I’m in it for the recital.

Ugh! I know what you mean! I enrolled my daughter in ballet, tap, and jazz combo classes and I am Officially a dance mom! I will hurt you if you det in my daughters way! And she is only four… If she gets into this competitively then I am screwed because I will hurt people for her! And is this my fault?!? Kind of. But I choose to blame the other crazy dance moms in her class. The dance mom-ness is contagious! She is adorable by the way! Nothing is as cute as a little girl in a tutu.. Except Maybe a teacup dog in a tutu… I don’t know! Lol

She is crazy precious, and I hope she has great fun in dance class. :)

How is it possible she keeps getting more & more adorable?!?

As a single mom the dance classes I signed my 5yr old Zoe for are coming straight outta my wine fund! But they are also the very thing that gets her through the week! Countdown to tumbles, taps, pirouettes, frills and thrills……SO WORTH IT!
