I love wine. That’s no secret. But sometimes a girl needs to switch things up a bit, you know?
My friend, Kristin, was over the other night and she was talking about this sangria she’d recently enjoyed at a party. It sounded absolutely delicious. And she was kind enough to share the recipe.
I made it last night. And oh my, it’s heaven in a pitcher.
What you need:
1 bottle of red wine (Pinot Noir or Merlot or similar)
1 cup of vodka
1 cup of juice (I used Cranberry, but seriously any juice will work—pick your favorite)
1 nectarine, pitted and sliced
1 lemon, sliced
1 orange, sliced
1 granny smith apple (or any kind of apple really)
1 cup of raspberries
1 cup of pitted cherries (totally optional)
Mix the above ingredients in a pitcher. What’s great is the fruit soaks up the alcohol so when you eat it later it bursts with flavor!
Chill the sangria in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. Just before serving, add club soda or for a little more sweetness, Sprite.
Stir it up and SERVE!
Make sure you get some slices of fruit in your glass. Enjoy!

“I’M NOT DRINKING ANY F-ING MERLOT”
(Name that movie)
Regardless I love sangria, so this weekend I think I’ll be making a pitcher. I love to eat the fruit after, but I have to be careful, that fruit can be deadly.
SIDEWAYS!
I think I’ll sub peaches for nectarines since I already have them peeled and sliced. Cannot wait to relax on the deck with this!
This is perfect! I’m definitely making this tonight to drink while we watch the hurricane roll in.
Can’t type, drinking.
Ginger Ale also works well for the last minute mixer
Sounds delicious! Definitely going to have to try!
man!!!! i wish this was posted earlier!!! we made some the other day and it was alright, but this mix sounds much better!!
You are such an inspiration. I still need you to take my faimly pictures. I’m going to school for photography as of well, Monday I attempted to take my own photos, they were horrid. In case you didn’t know, it is your images/mentality/passion that pushed me to pursue a career in photography. I can only hope that one day I’m as good as you are! (emphasize on the word HOPE!)
