Looking for a cute and inexpensive way to decorate for the fall season?
Need one more thing on your mantle this Halloween to put next to your glass jars of dragons teeth and eye of newt?
Think pumpkins are just plain nifty?
Check out this easy paper pumpkin craft. Made from just a few simple items you probably already have in your house, these little pumpkins have lots of potential for variety in terms of color and size. You could even paint faces on them for jack-o-lanterns once constructed.
For each pumpkin you will need:
2 pieces of paper/card stock in matching or contrasting colors
ribbon or string
paper punch or awl
paper cutter
Directions:
Cut each sheet of paper into 1-inch strips.
Stack strips of paper and punch a hole through each end of the strips using your paper punch or awl.
Tie a knot in one end of the ribbon and thread through one end of the stack of paper strips.
Pull the ribbon through the other hole in the paper strips and gently push the paper down the ribbon into a C shape.
Tie a knot.
It should look like this.

Fan out the paper strips into a pumpkin shape.
Trim ribbon ends—I use hemp cord because it reminds me of the little tendrils that the stems of pumpkins sometimes spiral into.
Bask in the awesomeness of the paper pumpkin you just hand crafted.

This is too cute! They would be awesome for our recognition dinner at work! Currently, my manager has been assigned the task of making tombstones out of cardboard and carving our company logo into pumpkins. I think she’d like doing this a lot better.
Just absolutely adorable. So Easy–thank you!
