Summer Road Trip Playlist

As many Americans hit the road this summer, the thought of constant air conditioning and the light tap-tap-tapping of iPods and hand held gaming devices makes us long to get back to the roots of what makes a summer road trip so darn magical in the first place.

I mean, if it wasn’t about the journey, why not just hop in a plane?

This summer we are driving with the windows down, the wind in our hair, and we want to compile the perfect playlist to get us to our destination, while taking in all the beauty of the road along the way!

Whether it’s a trip with the girls, a cruise with your love, or a family getaway, what would be on your perfect summer road trip playlist?

Jimmy Buffet and Garth Brooks keep me entertained when I drive, mostly because I can sing along to every song which keeps me awake!

My dad made us listen to “We Didn’t Start the Fire.” And then gave us history lessons on it. He still does it. Sometimes it makes me sad that I learned more history from Billy Joel and road tripping with my dad than I ever did in school.

But then I remember, “I know all the words to We Didn’t Start The Fire.” And I’m happy again.
