Confession: I’m a shoe horse.
I love shoes, and I’m very open about my shoegasms (these are like orgasms, only better). Trying on shoes is way more fun that trying on jeans because I never leave the store in tears, and I can always find something that fits.
In my quest for birthday shoes, I came across some extremely expensive and completely drool-worthy shoes. Maybe these shoes aren’t expensive for you, but if I could buy an iPad or make my house payment, or buy a pair of shoes… iPads and house payments win every single time.

I am very hard on all my shoes. It would kill me to spend this much money on these fancy boots, just to scuff them up while chasing after my kids. For $1,100, these things had better give me a foot massage and a happy ending.

These may or may not be real leather, but they do come with the option of ordering them in a wide calf. For $59, you can’t really go wrong, right? And they still have the buckle detail, something I loved about the expensive pair.

Or if you want real leather, which sometimes we do, check out this pair (also available in a wide calf):

All that glitters is very in style this season, but even on sale, these beauties cost a pretty penny.

Notice the heel. The heel is still bright gold, just like the more expensive pair. You save $200 by choosing the shoe with the pointed toe. And let’s face it, pointed toes are hot.

These are very expensive Mary Jane flats. And to tell you the truth, I don’t think they are very cute. Do you?

Okay, so we can all agree that this pair is much cuter, and they are really leather at half the price! I call this a win-win.

Shut. The. Front. Door. I covet these boots. You guys didn’t think we’d really talk about shoes without talking about cowboy boots, did you?

So what do you think? Is it worth it to spend a ton of money on shoes? Or are you like me and are happy with the less expensive versions?

I love a good bargain, but I will say my Bass flats that cost $100 vs my $20 Target pair are more comfortable and you can definitely tell which will last longer. I tend to spend more money on classic items that have stylish staying power. For trends I tend to go the cheaper route.
Those black satin bow shoes are ADORABLE. And $26?!?! You can’t beat that.
I like your bargain riding boots better than the $1100 pair. I have a pair of knee high faux leather boots I had to have my sister track down at a Kohls in South Dakota (I live outside DC) because I couldn’t find them anywhere around here or online in my size. Totally worth it. Every time I wear them, I get compliments.
I loved that they come in wide calf. I have been cursed, with a wide calf.
I, also and a shoeaholic…only my weakness is cowboy boots! I would totally pay that much for the Old Gringo boots…that’s cheap compared to what I’ve spent on some others I own! It’s totally worth the splurge sometimes just to have people gush over your footwear and know they’ll probably never drop that much to have their feet identical to yours!
I totally asked my mom to buy those for me for my birthday. I LOVE the Old Gringo boots. I just can’t bring myself to spend that much on them – but she totally should!
Ya’ll would HATE me…I wear the same pair of $20 black flats from Target pretty much every day of my life. I do love shoes, but 1) spending the money is not usually worth it to me (and by money I mean more than about $50 seems crazy to me) and 2) Comfort always beats fashion for me.
I am in the market for new Cognac boots…I really wish there were reviews on the Comfortview Kayleigh Boot! These are all great find though.
There are reviews for them at womanwithin.com. They seem to have pretty good reviews!
The older I get, the more I’m willing to spend on a quality shoe that’s comfortable. I save pennies buying my fancy jeans at Nordstrom Rack, pick up cheap tops at Target but splurge on my Fluevogs.
OMG Meredith!! I already have a shoe problem…
My shoedazzle account is active, I have a closet full of shoes and yet, I STILL WANT MORE. I’ve never been into bags but the shoes…sheesh. Especially cute and sexy heels. Imma have to check a couple of these out. I thank you, my visa probably does not.
The glitter capped heels are fab and honestly those would be so easy to DIY with tape, mod podge, and martha glitter.
