Summer is just around the corner. With it comes backyard BBQs, basking in the sunshine, and—obviously—a slew of summer movies. There’s nothing like escaping to a cooled movie theater with a bag of buttery popcorn and an icy drink.

Here’s our summer movie preview and some of the flicks you can expect when the temperature rises.

Men in Black III. This is the third movie in this sci fi comedy series. I couldn’t tell you what happened in the second flick, but the casting of Josh Brolin as a young Tommy Lee Jones is intriguing. See the trailer here. In theaters May 25.

Snow White and the Hunstman. This fairy tale interpreation promises to be grittier version than the other one that came out not long ago. While Kristen Stewart may be a debatable leading lady choice, Chris Hemsworth is sure to make a hot Hunstman. Also, Snow White as a heroine instead of a damsel in distress is a welcome twist. See the trailer here. In theaters June 1.

Rock of Ages. The stage-musical-turned-film offers an interesting ensemble cast: Tom Cruise, Bryan Cranston, Catherin Zeta-Jones, Alec Baldwin, Paul Giamatti, amongst others. This romantic musical is filled with 80s metal hits we know know and love. What more could you want? See the trailer here. In theaters June 15.

Brave. We have high hopes for this Disney PIXAR tale. Empowering a young princess to undo a curse and save her kingdom? We’re in! See the trailer here. In theaters June 22.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. No, you read that title correctly. You didn’t know the bearded president was a vampire slayer? Pshaw. When I first saw the trailer, I assumed it was a SNL Digital short. However, it’s legit. There’s an audience for this somewhere. See the trailer here. In theaters June 22.

To Rome with Love. This Woody Allen romantic comedy is set in beautiful Italy and features an ensemble cast, including Penelope Cruz, Jesse Eisenberg, Ellen Page and Woody Allen himself. See the trailer here. In limited theaters June 22.

Beasts of the Southern Wild. This independent film received numerous film festival accolades. Its six-year-old star, Hushpuppy, embarks on an imaginative adventure in search of her mother when her father falls ill. See the trailer here. In theaters July 5.

The Amazing Spider-Man. It’s another Spider-Man film but features a different Spider-Man actor. Andrew Garfield was a great co-star in Facebook, and we’re excited for his take on the web slinger on his quest to find answers for his parents’ disappearance. See the trailer here. In theaters July 3.

The Dark Knight Rises. Christian Bale returns as Batman, along with Anne Hathaway as Catwoman. Batman is still dark and brooding, and faces twisted criminals who want to destroy Gotham. See the trailer here. In theaters July 20.

What summer films are you most looking forward to?

I read Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter and the book is AMAZING! Seriously, of all the book into movie movies this year, THIS is the one I am most excited about, and that means a lot coming from a Hunger Games fan.

Read the book!

Also, my kids are psyched for Despicable Me 2. So there’s that.
