Lady Gaga: Born This Way?

Lady Gaga is the latest victim of extreme airbrushing, this time, courtesy the visionaries at Vogue Magazine. In response to the cover, Gaga tweeted

“I’m a cover girl, and it’s fab.”

Sure, I guess being a cover girl would be pretty fab, I mean, hello a dream come true! But maybe after seeing all the ways you were found lacking, doesn’t it become a bit offensive?

How close are we to just completely computer animating celebrities for glossy covers, and how do we get this to stop?

What do you think, too much?

As much as I love calling out photoshopping gone wrong, I don’t think this was done with the intention of people not knowing it’s photoshopped, or attempting in any way to portray this image as realistic.

It’s Gaga, it’s supposed to be a discoteka-warhol-geometric mess.

I think it was intended to look surreal and weird and oddly proportioned.

That’s exactly what I thought when I saw it.

Yes, definitely not the worst I’ve seen. And I’d like to see the same pose side by side, because the body proportions don’t look so different to me. The dress is out of proportion, not her body.

I think if the edits were to slim her or fit some false standard of beauty they wouldn’t have let her hips stick out farther than her boobs.

I thought it was Cher’s face… So let’s see they changed her hair, eyes, jawline, cheeks, ears, collarbones, bust, stomach, arms, back, dress style, dress color…. did I miss anything? I’d circle them all on my screen but my boss might yell at me for drawing on my monitor.

Umm. I thought it was RuPaul. Oops.

Now all I see is RuPaul. HAHAHAHAHA.

I feel like this falls in a different category than the photoshopped people in 17 magazine or skinnifying Adelle. First off, Lady Gaga is always crazy and pulling visual stunts. Secondly, it looks cartoonish, and it is super obvious the photo has been altered, it doesn’t look like a SOC photo at all. It’s high fashion.
