Walking tacos.
You guys, stop it. Foodgasm.
The hardest thing about Walking Tacos is browning the meat. So let’s get to it.
Add your thawed ground beef to an already hot pan on your stove.
Stir and let it brown.
When your meat is brown get your taco seasoning ready to add to it & add away.
Then add some water to thicken everything up.
Now comes the fun part.
You’ll need:
Taco meat of your choice (we had ground beef, but chicken or steak are great too)
Individual bags of Fritos chips, we chose the chili cheese flavor
Your favorite toppings; sour cream, cheese, hot sauce or salsa, refried beans, lettuce, etc
Open your bag of chips.
Add your taco meat.
Then layer your toppings—start with cheese so it melts.
Lettuce.
Sour cream.
YUM.
I added hot sauce to mine. (Come on.)
The best part about Walking Tacos? When you’re done…the clean up is a breeze!
It’s easy picnic food, easy we’re-going-to-the-park food, easy birthday food for a bunch of folks, an easy way to serve chili at that cook-off you never win (this could score you the blue ribbon this year, I just know it). It’s just easy.
And delicious.
Need help with the cleanup beyond the table? Get that stuck on residue off with the help of Aluminum foil, I’ll show you how here.

OMG, I haven’t had these in like 15 years. But um, I’m going to the store today to get my Fritos. This is a pregnant girls dream dinner.
They are so good! We’re out of fritos and it’s probably against the law some how. They’re on my list now too.
Yummmmmm…………..
I didn’t think you’d go there with putting the food back in the Frito’s bag, but you totally went there. If it’s good enough for Frito’s, the bag is good enough for my meat.
I totally went there. (Also, probably my favorite comment ever.)
I LOVE Walking Tacos. They never get the props they deserve. Mmm…must put Frito’s on my grocery list this week.
A friend of mine was just telling me about these the other day. Her parents make them to hand out to walkers that are doing “Relay for Life” in her area.
What a great idea!
In Texas, darlin’, those are called Frito Pies! A staple of Friday Night Football and State Fairs. Ladle chili on an open package of Fritos and there you go: Frito Pie.

Ah yes. I’m a Texan as well (transplanted from there to the midwest when I was younger) Frito Pies and Texas Brownies … what dreams are made of.
I must know… What are the Texas Brownies you speak of? If they are anything like regular brownies count me in!
This looks *so* yummy and easy – perfect for an undomesticated goddess like me. Must try!
Totally do it! Let us know how you like em!
um, Yummo! A tip about the ground beef? Buy giant family packs and fry it up all at once. Drain and portion it out into freezer ziplocs. Then when you need it, you just pull it out of the freezer and voila! Ground beef, cooked and ready to go.
I JUST started doing this – so much easier. Thanks for the time saving tip!
One of our favorite meals is Frito Pie, but I may add a few veggies to make them into Walking Tacos! Yum!
OMG, how have I not heard of this before now?? MUST try.
Genius! I’m trying this tomorrow.
Wow, so good. I’ve never heard of these before!
Wow, how fun!!
I love these with Doritos,,,on the list for dinner this week,,,and adding black olives! yummo!
These are going to be a lifesaver on night soon. I never know what to make when I walk through the door at 5:30, so I decided to get a list of 25 quick meal ideas. Check it out, I included your walking tacos!
They are so much better when you take the chips that are used for nachos! I have bad allergies and can not eat Doritos or any chips that have flavor on them.We are lucky the little league baseball field has a concession stand that sells them every summer and they are great!
