For many of us busy-bodies, paying attention to fashion (or in some cases getting dressed) isn’t on our long lists of things to do. But for those of you interested parties, here’s a round-up of this season’s must-haves:
Stripes From tanks to cardigans, stripes are still going strong for the 4th season in a row. Go classic in black and white, neutral in taupe and cream, or bright and bold in your favorite color.
Print Scarves Looking for an easy way to liven-up a casual ensemble without breaking the bank? Print scarves are the key to style on a budget.

Tunics Throw this ethnic inspired, roomy top over your relaxed jeans, linen straight-legs, or around-the-house leggings and voila! instant chic.
Wedges These sandals not only lack the infamous “these may hurt” disclaimer that often accompany normal heels- the solid platform also adds height without the fear of falling. Afraid of heights? Opt for a modest 1-inch version that offers just as much style.
Pastels If you haven’t already noticed, pastel tones like turquoise, pink, and coral are all the rage this season. But they’re only for girly-girls, right? Wrong! With so many colors and tones to choose from, you’re bound to find one you feel like yourself in, girly-girl or not.
Which one of these Spring essentials are you already wearing?

I’m totally following your looks! I love them all!
I love all of your looks. I think I need to find a job so I can get me a new wardrobe
Thank you! ahhahaaa! No way- this is all very affordable fashion
Love the looks. Would you ever post a shopping guide for the items in the looks?
Sure! I can send you links which list the stores each item is from. I’ll tweet you for your email addy
Loving the wedges, especially, though I am on-board with all these trends.
If you wouldn’t mind, talk to us about horizontal stripes on a curvy body. I see so many adorable sailor-inspired tops, but I’m afraid to wear them because the horizontal stripes are a no-no. Thoughts?
Hi Audrey. I think horizontal stripes can work for anyone if they’re worn the right way to compliment their shape. For instance, if you’re top heavy, go for a lose fitting cardigan in a neutral color, like this: http://girlwithcurves.tumblr.com/post/5596562545/nautical-in-neutral. If you have more an hour-glass figure, keep the length long and the waist belted (to make the waist to hip ratio even more dramatic), like this: http://girlwithcurves.tumblr.com/post/4799281216/how-to-wear-bright-stripes. If you want to conceal wide hips, go for a slouchy, slightly over-sized nautical sweater like this, in a chevron horizontal stripe, and belt the waist, as seen here: http://girlwithcurves.tumblr.com/post/3270159965/glitter-and-stripes. Hope this helps!
I am all about stripes and scarves.
I am in awe of how great you look, seriously.
You’re too kind! Thank you
I found your website recently and I love everything! So much inspiration for my own outfits.
you proudly wear clothes that are on the “things big women shouldnt wear list”. that’s brave. i wouldn’t do it, but i bet you have more fun doing things your way.
i love your looks! seriously flawless…i want to copy them all
You are beautiful! Welcome to CGG!
I love the tunics. I could wear them every single day. And wedges just make your legs look better. I always tell my husband that I wear heels because the taller I am – the bigger my ass is allowed to be.
Obviously I love this. Here I am again!
I also have a new LOVE for white pants. I see you have some on above. Mine are very similar. They are soft and loose fitting and look beachy. So comfortable and so flattering. I used to shy away from white (thought it made me look fat… blah…blah…blah), but now I love it. I always get compliments on my white pants.
I JUST got my first pair of wide leg chinos, and I am LOVING them! Assuming I remember to not wear stripey panties with them….
Love it!
What are your favorite stores? I love all those clothes! Also, the make-up you’re wearing on your blog looks amazing…I love the lipstick.
Hi Jamie! One of my favorites is Forever 21. They have a wide range in sizes (XS-3X), and the best selection of trends AND staple wardrobe pieces at affordable prices (I don’t think anything is over $40 and most items are below 30!)
Thank you for the make-up compliment! I prefer natural make-up, so at times I think it looks like I’m not even wearing any and I need more color on my face, lol! so it’s nice to know you like it. (I interchange two lipstick colors from MAC cosmetics: Ravishing, which is a coral, peach, and Fan Fare, a natural pink.
I love all the looks but ESPECIALLY the second Wedges pic and the second in the pastels. Is the shopping info listed anywhere?
Thanks Kristine! You can find the shopping info. here: http://girlwithcurves.tumblr.com/post/5384734152/uptown-polish-downtown-chic
After reading this I feel the need to go shopping! White pants and horizontal stripes are things I have stayed away from for years, but you make them look so good!
Ahhh stripes, stripes and more stripes! I’ve never cared that “horizontal stripes make you look wide” cause I LOVE them. From where I am sitting I can see eight articles of clothing I own that are striped. Socks, shirts, skirts, swimsuit, and even my bed sheets. I am so glad another curvy chick is advocating stripes!!
You look awesome! Glad to see another awesome writer on staff. ;D
