February POPSUGAR Box Spoiler

SPOILER * SPOILER * SPOILER
This post contains POPSUGAR Box Spoilers. Do not read if you want to be surprised.

I’m in love with POPSUGAR.

So, I dated Birchbox for a few months earlier this year, and all my friends were crazy about it. But the fact is, I’m kinda a cheapo, so the tiny sample size beauty things didn’t hold my attention for long, and when I found something I truly loved, my wallet could never pull the trigger on the splurge (remember, I have a Rite Aid beauty budget).

But one of my good friends, Maria, started waxing poetic about POPSUGAR, I was intrigued. A monthly themed box of full size home, food, beauty and fashion goodies? In the mail? Like olden times!? I LOVE OLDEN TIMES!

And since the only people interested in being my penpal are in prison, this would have to do.

How it works is you sign up monthly or on a three, six or twelve month basis, and every month, they send you a themed box of full size surprises.

I signed up for three months, and my very first box came today, on Valentine’s Day, which is fitting because Andy didn’t get my anything. Ahem.

popsugar box

In this box:
Brokedown Fashion Wrap (An adorable and super soft white after-shower wrap)
Lace Hanky Panky Panties (A thing that is one size fits all, and true story, I just tried mine on and it totally fits my size 16 ass)
Mariebelle New York Dark Chocolate Nibs (Candy I’ve already hidden from my children)
Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain (Um, it’s been four seconds and I’m already obsessed with this)
Connoisseurs Quick Jewelry Cleanser with Brush (I will use this to get the 900 layers of hairspray of my ring)
Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks and a code for free song download (I only read Nicholas Sparks books when I menstruate, so this will be handy in 23 days)
Conversation Hearts (I’ve already eaten these)

According to my friend Maria, who is way better at math than me, the value of this box totals over $130. Totally worthsies.

I can’t wait until March!

If you are interested, check out POPSUGAR here!
(There was a coupon in my box that says you can get $5 off by using the code REFERFRIENDS)

I got my first one 2 days ago, and I’m so in LOVEEEE! I got pink hanky pankys but I love the blue you got! Question? What color lipstick did you get? I got red and I immediatly thought of your lipstick post. Love it!! Such a great color! Enjoy :)

I know! But I swear, it totally fits. I have no idea how, I’m guessing it’s made of the same fabric as Mary Poppins’ carpet bag.

I feel like I’ve heard Shauna Glenn talk about these panties before (do we say ‘panties’? the word kind of makes me uncomfortable). It might have been a long time ago, I have a strangely selective memory. Anyway, Shauna- and Brittany-endorsed. Check.

Do you want to be pen pals? Cause I have a whole box of stationary and shit that my 12 year old self bought when I moved to the other side of the country that I haven’t used yet. And I don’t have kids yet so all these stickers are just waiting…

Oh, you are so going to regret typing that funny little pen pals line. Now I’m trying to figure out some way to worm my way into your [MAIL]box in a totally non-creepy way.

I’ve thought about trying Birchbox (referred to me by my son, oddly enough) but was having a hard time resolving myself to paying $25 for samples on a monthly basis. THIS I would totally do though – thanks so much for sharing! It’s like a penpal and secret santa all rolled in to one!

I’m not in jail! I’ll be your pen pal! I won’t even use “u” for “you.” But I can’t promise to not use smiley faces every few lines.

I think PopSugar is going on my birthday list. Must have! It’s a good thing my birthday is next month.

  6. Maria says

I just got my first one too! And birch box started this obsession of getting mailed surprises every month. Hankypankys fit my 12-14 booty too – maybe they’re magic.

i was going to tell you earlier that the revlon lip stain would have had me at hello. the connoiseurs jewelry cleaning stuff would be a plus, too, as i have a jar of their jewelry cleaner at home. makes my wedding ring sparkle more than edward cullen’s body. i think i’m gonna have to check popsugar out. i need those magical hankpanky undies so i can have underwear that doesn’t ride down my backside lol

    1. This is a delight. I haven’t signed up for Birchbox, because I don’t really feel like it’s a good value (even for only $10), but this is an AWESOME value for all the stuff you got! I may need to sign up when I get my tax return later this month.
    2. If you really want some snail mail, I will totally send you some. I’m all about penpals. :)

I didn’t even know popsugar existed until I read this post. The timing is nothing short of awesome because I was trying to figure out what to get my best friend for her birthday. Guess what?! She’s getting 6 months worth of surprise gifts! This is even more perfect because the pressure is off me if she doesn’t like some of the items – because I didn’t pick them! Win-win!

Thanks for the information on this.

Just signed up for the limited edition summer box. If I like it I’ll probably sign up for the year membership. Just curious – do they bill you a monthly rate, or a one time flat fee? The website says something like “autorenewed each month” so maybe I’m a little slow, but that DOES mean a monthly bill, correct?
