In honor of her latest book, Wallbanger, my friend Alice Clayton has been hosting a really fun holiday event, Twelve Days of Wallbanger. It’s basically been eleven days of her throwing fun giveaways all over the internet featuring all her favorite Wallbanger-esque Christmas must-haves. And, since Wallbanger prides itself on good sex, good booze and good food…well, let’s just say it’s been a good week.
Which brings us to today.
When Alice asked me if I wanted to host the final day of Wallbanger giveaways, I was like, um I just gave away a moose head, I’m not really sure how we can compete with that?
Challenge accepted.
This is a shiny brand new, fully loaded, sex red Kitchenaid Mixer. And if you’ve read Wallbanger, you obviously know, if you bake it (zucchini bread), he will come (repeatedly).
On the 12th Day of Wallbanger my Alice gave to me… the best way to make Simon appear for real!
Here we are chickens, the last day of #12daysofWallbanger. It’s been so much fun sharing all these great giveaways with you, and there was no way we were gonna end this without giving away the big mother prize of ’em all. That’s right, it’s a KitchenAid Mixer. Wallbanger leading lady, Caroline, is in love with her mixer, and it made Simon fall in love with her. I’m in love with all of you, so what better way to share the love than to give you your very own Mixer of Love.
I can’t say enough good things about my KitchenAid Mixer, it got me through my 72 hour baking marathon last weekend and it will get me through every PMS moment to come in the forseeable future. And since my girl Brittany here is part of my forseeable future, there was no one else on the planet I could think of to anchor this amazing giveaway. Unless Robert Pattinson was available. Then Brittany knows I would drop her like a hot potato, but with her blessing.
So much exciting news to share with you in the new year, stay tuned because this ride is about to go bonkers.
Happy Holidays to you and yours
Alice

I’ve always wanted a KitchenAid mixer. In red no less. The list of what I’ll do with it is long and extensive! So there will be several comments! First….because it’s so pretty I will pet it every time I walk by it in the kitchen. I’m sure at times I’ll even walk over to it just to touch it. I’ll cook with it as well, but for those times when I am running out the door to work, touching it longingly will have to do.
And now the list of foods I’ll make with the mixer.
Bread. All kinds. Mouthwatering just thinking about it.
Soft pretzels. I have been craving them lately and now that I’m off for a couple of weeks at Christmas I plan to do so. Having a mixer like this one would make it so much more of an experience! It would be my inaugural recipe.
Cookies.
I admit I’ve been lazy since coming back from Turkey. For a long time my kids would only eat homemade cookies and then I got busy and stopped making them. I started working at Panera and brought home cookies which were ok substitutes for my homemade ones. Then when I quit Panera and started teaching I started buying store bought stuff. The kids don’t care anymore. And that is sad. They deserve homemade cookies.
Merengue. I always make my merengue in a glass bowl so I would definitely be experimenting by using a metal bowl. I have no problem with experimentation!
Chocolate frosting. A good whipped frosting is my absolute favorite.
Sunday Cinnamon Rolls. To die for!
YAY!!!!!!!! So Excited=) Ingredients fully stocked, cookie pans at the ready
Pizza crust. I’m a huge fan of pizza, and homemade is the absolute best!!!!!
Black Magic Cake. Yum!
Flavored butters for all different things. I LOVE flavored butters!
I’m working on my Christmas shopping list. I’m only cooking for 3 people, but I will be using my little hand mixer for several items. Sure wish I had this to make the gingerbread. I love gingerbread!
whipped cream!!
THe Most Perfect Cream cheese frosting…I can taste it Now!! ~
*Sent an email to my Bestie Amber who is bringing her new addition home from the hospital today…oh that baby is so SO pretty and perfect and makes my heart yearn for another…why not have #3 at age ….I will be 40 next week..
Homeade Cranberry with a hint of Orange zest with walnut bread…yum! ..and to package it up so pretty in wrap and twine for friends, teachers and the homeless….
I have never made my mother in law’s REAL recipe for Mashed Potatoes…boxed mash is all I have ever made…but the thought of trying to made real mashed with sour cream inside…and 2x baked potatoes….adds a good 10 on my frame!
today I made beignets. A mixer sure would have been nice!
I know the contest is over…I just keep thinking of yummy things I need a mixer for!
