SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER
This post contains SPOILERS for the August POPSUGAR Box. Do not read if you want to be surprised.
I’m like a kid on Christmas. *shake, shake, shake* Ohhhh mannnnn, this box is heavy, it’s gonna be amazing!
I really loved the July box, so August was gonna be a tough sale.
And while I really like August, I don’t know, something was missing?
Inside this box:
Gogjana Open Circle Necklace. This was a special add-in to celebrate POPSUGAR’s 1 year anniversary. I love the necklace and gotta say, if it had not been in there, this box would have been a huge letdown.
BentGo. I actually have been eyeing bento boxes for the kids lunches thanks to all the overachievers who post their witty kid’s lunches on instagram. Excited for this.
Lulah Body Wash. It has a pretty bottle and a light scent, but my skin is pretty sensitive, so instead of risking a rash, it’ll go in the regift pile.
Weekly Agenda Notebook. I am actually the neanderthal still keeping a paper calendar on the fridge, so this excited the 1999 in me.
Lunares Apple Bowl. Oooo-kay. So this is a a cute small apple bowl that supposedly won’t chip. It reminds me of the kinda stuff I’d buy my teacher at the Secret Santa Workshop in grade school. Um yeah, to the kid’s teacher it goes.
Dermalogica Precleanse & Special Cleansing Gel. You’ll never hear me complaining about face crap, ever. Bring it.
NatureBox Granny Smith Apples. Dried Granny Smith Apple slices my kids already devoured. Win.
In theory, this box had some fun things; like the necklace and weekly planner and Bentgo box. The rest of the items kinda fell short for me, but like I said, I love POPSUGAR because it’s a fun way to experience products I might not ordinarily buy for myself. And I like that.
If you are interested, check out POPSUGAR here!
I just haven’t been able to commit yet! Ack…every time I think I’m ready….I fizzle. Would you say you are overall glad that you did? More months are good than bad? Do more people decide to keep up their subscriptions….eek!
I actually do love doing this. I wasn’t sure I would continue, but I find myself using so much of what I get, and it’s worth it to me. It’s a really great monthly treat.
I was disappointed in the August box. The bento box is cool and I will use the bodywash and face stuff. The other stuff will probably be regifted. I am gonna keep my subscription for awhile. I do love getting it in the mail every month.
I made the move from birch box to popsugar this month (based on one of your reviews from earlier in the summer). I am glad I did. The bento box, dried apples, and notebook were totally worth it for me!!
I got my Pop Sugar box yesterday. It was my first one. The apple theme was cute. I really liked the body wash. It was the citrus scent. Smelled way better on my shower poof and on my skin than just sniffing the bottle. The necklace is cute but too small for me :( so it will be regifted to one of my nieces. The apple bowl I’m keeping beside the kitchen sink so I can put my rings in it when working with messy stuff. Apple slices, meh. Bento box might just become storage for jewelry or candy. Dermalogica, I’ll bite, give it a try. Notebook is super cute.
For my first experience I’m not complaining. I have. Subs to Birchbox & Ipsy too. Ipsy so far has been really a bit of a downer. Birchbox I’m still on the fence. Their customer service is good though.
The necklace was a choker on me! It’s getting regifted if I don’t find a super cheap necklace extender thingy the next time I’m at the mall.
I have been thinking about getting a subscription box. Which one do you like the best?
I really love POPSUGAR, but I am also itching to try Fancy, as I’ve heard great things about them.
I wasn’t disappointed in this months Box. I think I agree with Brittany, there is always something in it I LOVE, and a few things not so much. The Bento Box was cool and it came in Purple (my favorite color). Love the necklace, the Apple Bowl, I was like…what is this? -Same as Brittany- Teacher Gift! I have been subscribing since March, was on a 3month which switched to Monthly. I contacted them to change to a 6month as I LOVE IT THAT MUCH! It’s the ONE treat that is just for ME. Anyways, they told me to cancel then re-subscribe. Did that and it told me my new subscription will start in October! WHAT!?! I lose a month!!!? NOT HAPPY about that. I emailed them, let’s see what their customer service department can do. overall, I love my POPSUGAR and have given subscriptions to 3 separate friends as gifts!!
I can’t decide on getting one of these boxes! I currently receive an ipsy bag every month and it has more things I will use regularly than any other box. It is mainly makeup, face, and hair products.
I think what I liked about POPSUGAR was that is was more than just beauty items. It’s why I went with them over Birch or Ipsy. So if you LOVE the product type boxes, maybe POPSUGAR isn’t for you, because they are often full of only 1-2 products and the rest is non-beauty items.
Please don’t give the apple dish to the teacher. Why oh why, do people assume teachers love apples. We don’t. Would you send a banana shaped bowl to a teacher? How about a pear? A kiwi? We don’t like fruit anymore than anyone else. We like booze. and coffee. but especially booze.
;)
WHO STARTED THIS RUMOR!?
Seriously, I say we start a movement that teachers like vodka. Less calories than fruit and better for the mental health, yes?
i wish we had something like this here in australia.
fwiw, brittany if you ever decide to go all-out on the merch, including LCB and HBWT, please, please, please consider making a brittany, herself box/subscription full of all YOUR favourite things…. that i would subscribe to in a fraction of a heartbeat :)
DERMALOGICA. Best. Brand. Ever. My favourite is their Active Moist moisturizer; it’s the only one I will use on my acne-prone skin (if you ever do a Last Call on adult acne, I’m so in – I didn’t have a single day of clear skin between the ages of 13 and 25).

I was disappointed with the necklace. Is it meant to be a choker? I gave it to my tiny skinny sister and it was STILL to small for her.
OK YES! I just actually put it on and WTF! it was so small!? I’m changing the necklace to a dislike.
Phew! Glad I am not the only one and my neck is not the issue :)
I feel like the necklace would be an appropriate length for my 3 year old if she ever wore a necklace. Boo!
What about using one of those necklace extender things? I’m not terribly fond of yellow gold but I do like the necklace style. It is super tiny and that sucks but at least you can use one of those extender chains. Unlike the bracelet from a few months ago.
I was ok with this month’s box. The apple dish is really cute but I don’t know what I’ll do with it. I love that Heather begged you not to give the bowl to a teacher…made me laugh.
I’m going to stick with PopSugar for a while. I’ve also signed up for Volupties. I enjoyed my first shipment and am looking forward to my next one. Based on your recent sex post, you’d love Volutpies….so would Andy…so that’s a win-win :)
I kept debating on buying a subscription, so I decided to buy one for kiddo instead. Citrus Lane will be arriving at the end of the month.
Not a fan, overall, of this month–especially after the epic win of last month, but still glad I followed your lead on this subscription.
BTW, does the necklace fit ANYONE?!? WTF? Huge let down after the rocking rose gold double chain from last month, maybe?, that, as I opened the box thought “What am I? A rapper?” Stupidity at its’ finest on my part–have worn that chain several times and get nothing but compliments. Disappointed that this necklace is so freaking tiny and I don’t really have a big neck. Guess it’ll get re-gifted…..
The necklace was worth it for me! I love it :)
