It’s cold at last.
I could not be more excited right now, because it means I can start fattening up for the winter. I’m like a bear, except for the part where they eat tons of ruffage to plug their butt holes so they don’t poop during hibernation. Does that really happen, or is that just something my dad told me to make me hate bears?
In honor of this new crisp season, I am in full-on chilly weather food mode. Plus, when you make stuff in crockpots, your house smells less like a garbage bag full of poopy diapers, and more like you did stuff all day and not sat on your ass favoriting zombie tshirts on etsy.
- Rump Roast
- 1 bag of mini peeled carrots (I get a large bag, we love 'em!)
- 2 large Sweet Onions, roughly chopped
- 1 can Beefy Mushroom Condensed Soup (do not add water)
- 1 bag Egg Noodles
- Put the rump roast in a crockpot and cover with carrots, onion and beefy mushroom soup.
- Cook on high 6-8 hours, or until beef falls apart and carrots are soft.
- When ready to serve, ladle over prepared egg noodles.
I love Fall weather because I can make soup!!! I heart roast beef too, thanks for the recipe!
This looks delicious!
I’ve lost all respect for bears.
I’m pretty sure eating ruffage would have the OPPOSITE effect.
You don’t what to nap near Yogi is all I’m saying.
P.S. That stuff looks good. We had pot roast last night. Yum.
Even though it will be 105 degrees here this afternoon (AZ) I’m gonna make this anyway! My kids will think I didn’t watch Netflix all day. :)
Umm…I think you (or your dad?) got it backwards! Ruffage is what HELPS you poo! If bears loaded up on ruffage and then hibernated…it would not be pretty come Spring!;)
YAY for chilly weather/comfort food! Bring on the chicken and noodles, chili, vegetable beef soup, potato soup, ham and beans, roasted turkey and mashed potatoes and gravy! And bread…lots and lots of homemade breads!
Thanks, Brittany! Not I’ve gotta go grocery shopping!;)
*now…sheesh, I’m so excited, I can’t spell!
I got so excited over the fall weather the other day that I made chili. But now, it’s back to a humid 75 degrees … chili is not as good when you’re sweating your ass off, especially if it’s spicy chili like mine is. I now need a shower after eating my leftover chili lunch. hrmph. I want fall back dammit! Also, I will be making this pot roast when it cools down again. I <3 cold weather food!
i can’t believe we missed the cold weather by 2 weeks.
–>I do this with London broil but add sliced mushrooms and potatoes so it’s all in one pot. Oh and I use beer instead of the soup. My potatoes are Irish like me. It’s how we roll.
It excites me that your roast includes noodles. Anything with carbs is my bff.
Looks delish! I can’t use mushrooms because my family will have a conniption but I love them!! I will definitely be busting out the crock pot because I want the house to smell like I have been busy too!!!

I just used my crock pot today – corned beef, yum. I have a technical question though. How did your beef not burn without adding water? I always have to add liquid at least halfway up the pot or things burn in there.
Wow, I never had that issue. I think between the soup and the fat on the meet, there was enough of a buffer. Maybe try keeping your crockpot at a medium setting? Or cook on high the first few hours, then turn down to low the final 4-6.
