Lazy Sunday: November 20th

by Brittany on November 20, 2011

in Lazy Sunday, lowercase b

OK, big day, I finally have my TED talk! In my head, as I remember it, I was perfect. So I have decided not to watch it.  For now.  But you can.

(Sorry to move the video, but I had people unable to “find it” on Amuse Bouche, so placed it on my front page.  My blog is apparently just like the movie the Labyrinth. OH LOOK!  DAVID BOWIE IN TIGHT PANTS!)

Second, this week, I was sick.  Like, MURDEROUSLY sick.  I mean, not too sick to role play. BUT STILL SICK.

I also gave you the best Chinese Take Out recipe ever.

I showed you pictures.

And then, I am reaching out to ALL Etsy folk, local business and work at home mamas.  If you have a business/shop/website/artist you want to promote this holiday season, LET ME HELP YOU DO THAT!

In other crap I saw online this week…

I ordered this ornament for Andy.  I like Christmases to have a theme.  I think ours will be hungover.

You know you always wanted to live in a hamster ball?

Confession, I sorta have a fascination with miniature things.  People, beauty supplies, appetizers.

My favorite Fb convo of the week?  This one.

Check out the latest episode of Brittany & Meredith Live, episode 9 is up! I talk a girl out of buying cemetery plots for Christmas and then a sexologist teaches us how to go down on people.  Spoiler alert: YOU WERE DOING IT WRONG.

BIG HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT!  This Monday, Brittany & Meredith Live will be LIVE, as in, we’ll have a camera in the studio and you can drink with us in real time, face to face!  Don’t miss it, I’m going to wear a bra and everything!

Also, catch up on The Brittany Emails, updated courtesy Mr. Gibbons. Anyone else think he’s getting a touch cocky?

To keep up with everything I love, I suggest joining me on PinterestStumbleUponFacebookGoogle +, and Twitter.

ME tooooo!! As soon as she started talking about her daughter the tears came. I have a 3 year old and I hope she don’t end up with my weight issues. I joke and say…I hope she gets her fathers TALL gene to bypass my FAT gene!

Tears . . . love you, love this, THANK YOU for doing this for me and my daughter and every other woman out there. You are amazing. And beautiful. And if I ever meet one of those snarky women who wrote a hurtful comment they’re going down!

You totally suck and that was awful…. I figured I’d throw some sarcasm into the pot because it’s a more interesting way to tell you that you rocked it and that was awesome. Right? Because you did and it was, but surely you already know that. Because anyone who rocked that hard and was that awesome couldn’t not know it. ;) -xo

Tears. My daughter is only 1 now, but I hate to think of her growing up and hating herself. I may save this for when she’s older and decides that she’s just not good enough, because unfortunately, we all know that’s coming.

All I have to say is I love you! I’ve loved your blog for a couple years now, but, YOU, you are truly an icon in this day and age for women. Thanks for sharing! :)

Crying!!! I can’t thank you enough for this, for Curvy Girl Guide, for you…. I am learning to love my body more each day, and because of you I also wore a bathing suit (in public!!) for the first time in 20 years!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! You have no idea how much I needed to see this, TODAY!! I bought a scale last night for the first time since my daughter was born 5 years ago, and spent most of the night crying and telling myself how bad I was for letting myself get this way. Telling my BFF how much I hate myself (despite her reassurances I am beautiful). You have no idea what a gift this was this morning. THANK YOU

That was amazing. I cried too. I have sons but I want my boys to grow up respecting women of all shapes and sizes and not make little girls feel the way we did. The only way I will be successful in teaching my boys is if more people realize that a size 16 is way more common than a size 2. Thank you for being our voice.

Wow.
I don’t know if it’s because I’m sick with a sinus infection.. or because I’m 34 weeks pregnant expecting a daughter this time, or maybe it’s just because I’m a woman. But that, what you did on that stage, what you are doing with your life, moves me to tears.

You are going to have kids who are fucking proud of their mother.

I am pregnant with a girl this time and am so worried about how I will be able to convince her to love how she looks with the influence of media, society, and women saying otherwise. You’re a great woman and an awesome mother for doing this!!! Thank you!!

I bawled…a lot. You are so beautiful, and smart and funny. I can’t tell you how much you’ve helped me feel better about myself, even on the worst days. Thank you so much for being you, and sharing it with the rest of us.

Your speech was definitely amazing, and I teared up (don’ tell anyone though, it will totally ruin my tough-girl image!). I am dying of curiosity, however, about the best facebook conversation… when I click it I just get a facebook error :(
