Love this! This is a conversation I have with my students often. I don’t allow “that’s gay” comments to be used in my classroom (or life… ask my friends and family) for this very reason. It breaks my heart to think about the students in my school who have to hear such language. When I teach persuasion, we talk about Public Service Announcements, and there was a series a few years back where a bunch of celebrities did an anti-that’s-so-gay campaign. I may need oto share this with them too!
